AcornThis site is still maintained using RISC OS hardware and software. Our URL: http://welcome.to/TheLakes V3-URL We got it for free at http://come.to

This site is now a personal web site and is no longer the official site of the Lakes School. Accordingly you will no longer be able to find material such as the prospectus, letters to parents or detailed term dates. You can still find some examples of pupils work together with pupil's views about the area. The site was originally set up to give pupils an opportunity to share their work, particularly that done in IT lessons, with a wider audience. In December 1999 the management decided to change the school internet provider and the URL which this site had been using for the previous two years, (www.lakes.cumbria.sch.uk), was taken to be used for the "official" web site, although you will probably find that even now (October 2001) that site still does not exist. The responsibility for that site lies elsewhere and not with me. If you wish to send email to the school please use the following address
admin@lakes.cumbria.sch.uk

In July 2000 I relinquished the post of ICT Coordinator and from September 2001 my teaching timetable will be entirely Mathematics. As a result of all this, many of the pages you will see here will remain simply for historical interest!
I will continue to add my own material and I am usually happy to respond to requests for infromation about the area- hence the pages about Longmire and the Dairy House.

Old!

If you were a pupil from the 'Class of '85', in other words you left The Lakes School in that year, you may like to know that there is an email group for you to keep in touch with old friends. If you knew Paddy Mortimer, Dean Mounsey, Ian Hunter, Fiona Mills or any of that crew, then send us an email and we can put you in touch. Oops, we got in to trouble for neglecting to include the infamous Simon Elliot who has recently returned from Australia and was the main mover behind getting the group going..
