Cancelled Bookings
Unfortunately quite a number of our bookings for Ceilidhs during February and March were cancelled because of the severe weather conditions or because of Foot and Mouth Restrictions.

Harriet Longman, whose group of youngsters in the Sarajevo Orphanage we are supporting, has sent some photographs of her young people playing their instruments. Her letter and the photographs will be on display for all band members to see at Birgham.

6th January 2001 - Small Hall Band New Year Ceilidh
Band members invited their friends for a New Year knees-up on Saturday 6th January. This fantastic family fun occasion attracted well over a hundred people who had a great night of dancing, eating , refreshing and enjoying themelves. Thanks to everyone who helped to make it a success.

10th November, 2000. - Small Hall Band Concert
This concert raised over £250 . A large proportion of this will go to the orphanage in Sarajeveo to support the violin lessons for the disadvanatged youngsters. Many thanks to all who participated and helped to make the evening a success.
27th and 28th September 2000 - Transatlantic Sessions with 'The Peninsular Scottish Fiddlers'
The Small Hall Band played two concerts, in Eccles and Maxton with 'The Peninsular Scottish Fiddlers' from California. Both evenings were very successful - the audiences being treated to an enthusiatically played Scottish and Irish set from the Small Hall Band , and a more sedate set of Scottish, Cajun and American tunes and songs from the visitors. Both bands combined their talents at the close of each evening with rousing renditions of some well known Scottish reels.Two very entertaining and quality musical evenings indeed !!

8th July 2000 - Newcastleton Folk Festival
Members of the Small Hall Band won many trophies this year in the fiddle, children's singing, whistle competitions, as well as winning the Ceilidh Band Competition.

April 12th 2000 - The 'Millennium Dome'  - Greenwich, London. The visit to the Millenium Dome and the performance by the Small Hall Band in the MacDonald Our Town Theatre will remain a vivid memory for all the young musicians in the Band. The additional performances in the main Arena of the Dome made it all the more worthwhile. The Border TV documentary conveyed some of the excitement and the committment of all the band members
