Governor Training

School Governors, charged with enormous responsibility, are often faced with making decisions about which they are not adequately informed. PriorITas will conduct Governor Training evenings which aim to raise awareness of the resourcing, management and curriculum issues which schools face in terms of ICT provision.

The Governor Training presentation usually takes the following agenda, but can be tailored to suit individual schools' requirements:

• Introduction to the National Curriculum for ICT - explaining the jargon in the Programme of Study
• Examples of ICT activities to cover the strands - with the opportunity for hands-on experience if time allows
• Resourcing issues - hardware, software, leasing, purchasing
• Staff training - identifying professional development needs and planning accordingly
• Preparing for OfSTED, or post-OfSTED plans of action
• What's round the corner - raising awareness of the next stage in ICT developments.
