Garden Design

Garden design is probably unique among the spatial

arts in the often dramatic way that it changes with

the fourth dimension, time. Since the dawn of civilisation

mankind has modified his environment in order to

express ideas, but today gardens are also increasingly seen as

living spaces, extensions of the house (or school, or business),

rather than just places to do gardening. My personal

icons of garden design are Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe

About me

After 20 years working as an architect, I decided in 1989

to return to university to study landscape architecture,

and now specialise in the design of private gardens.

My work is based on a lifelong love of plants and a strong

grounding in hard landscape design and construction.

I try always to provide a solution which fully satisfies client

requirements, and is at the same time appropriate for its setting.

Drawings, specifications and planting schedules are produced

on an Acorn Risc PC computer running the reliable

and versatile RISC OS 4.02 operating system.
