Tips relating to all Minis - race, rally or road.
To remove the nosegear bearing from the gearbox of a Mini, use one of the hammer-on balljoint splitters. This pushed the metal centre off of the shaft without damaging the plastic cage. Just don't forget to remove the clip first!
When fitting a four core radiator, throw away the standard spacer behind the fan. This gives you precious millimeters when trying to slide the rad in.
If you have just fiddled with your 1.3i and it is now missfiring, check the vacuum pipes to the ECU. If these pipes are pushed on too far, the airway will become blocked and so confuse the poor little ECU.
If you have four point harnesses, ensure that your co-driver/navigator has retrieved the clipboard from the dash before fastening the belts.
Try and keep your car under control when driving within close proximity to armco (oops).
