SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL - INTER DISTRICT MATCH
Played at Douglas Eyre Sports Centre on 5th October 2002
HACKNEY under 11' s 0, Thurrock Under 11' s 3.
Both sides fielded seventeen-strong squads for this early-season friendly, but it was the visitors who came out on top courtesy of three second-half goals.
Hackney quickly took charge in the early stages and incisive passing from Moorse-MacDougall and McWilliam-Kynaston provided close-range chances for Olugu and Fallah but both were off-target.
The Essex side established their supremecy by moving the ball forward with speed and accuracy after the interval and it was no surprise when they netted three times as Hackney tired.
Hackney still threatened through Sasa who used his speed to outstrip defenders at will, but his team-mates could not finish off his good work.
Hackney Squad: Clarke, Eyles (Grazebrook), Reid (Berger),
Downing (Laburnum), McWilliam-Kynaston, Akomolafe (Daubeney), Sasa (Sir Thomas Abney), Mason-Blair (St. John & St. James), Moorse-MacDougall, Parkinson (Rushmore), Fallah (Kingsmead), Henry-Sobers, Sankereh (St. Mary's), Napier (Craven Park), Smyth, Capt. (William Patten), Olugu, James (Holy Trinity).
