Lakes School Art Department

Some of our pupils have been working with a visiting artist from the Green Door group in Kendal. The work is part of a Millennium project in South Lakeland and some of the pieces produced as part of the collaboration were on exhibition in Kendal Library. The following pictures were taken in the library on Saturday 15th January.

Old news
The Head of Art is now Rachel Lumb, who came to the Lakes to take on this role when Edmund Blood retired.

Miss Lumb and IT Coordinator Mr Rhodes have been trying out an experiment with a group of year 10 pupils. This is a first tentative step into using IT with art.
Pupils took photographs of their own work using a Sony Mavica digital camera. (The general theme for the work was 'Architecture'.)
The pictures were then transferred to the computer network and the pupils have begun to work on them using graphics software. So far it seeems to be working as an experiment and we should have a more interesting gallery of work soon.
In the meantime these are the 'raw' pictures before they have been worked on with the software.
