Scooter's Scratchings for Winter 2001/2002

John says that Christmas is coming up once again, so I suppose that means The Tree will soon reappear next to my bed...

It really has been cold outside at night, so I don‘t go out for more than a few minutes at a time, and even then I try to keep to the daytime as much as possible. I like to sit in the front doorway, watching the world go by, but John says it‘s too cold to leave the door ajar ("on the chain", as he puts it) so I don‘t get to do this nowadays. It will no doubt be okay when the warm weather returns.

I must admit that there is one good thing about the cold weather: the radiators are now nice and warm and really cosy to curl up by.

One thing I am missing is guinea fowl, which is one of my favourites to share. John says they are "out of season" so he cannot get any, but at least we still share steaks, salmon, trout and lots of other good things. My website is proving popular, and I have had several contributions to my Guestbook. Here‘s an example:

I am only new at using the Internet and it‘s difficult for me as my paws are too big and hit several keys at once. So I just lie on the keyboard and hope something that makes sense comes out of it.

I like your scratchings and agony columns - I see you‘ve got excellent facilities and well trained humans. My human is also setting up a web site but she is hindered quite a lot by us (me and Fizz) so it is not progressing very much. I will make sure there are pics of us for you to see. Keep up the good work.

Scooter‘s Tail-end:
A previously rather persistent and troublesome Siamese with a loud bell hasn‘t been coming in my flap in recent months: perhaps the message has finally sunk inŒ

More “mews” from me next time.
