Scooter's Scratchings for Winter 1997/98

Yippee! I no longer need to go out to the garage, as my Master has set up what he calls a "feeding station" in the kitchen.

It was starting to get a bit chilly outdoors as it was, though the garage itself is nice and warm, so I‘m pleased that I can stay indoors most of the time.

Only "calls of nature" (and we cats are closer to nature than you humans!) and intrusions by other cats make me go outdoors now, at least until the better weather comes again.

My Master (well, John really, but I know that you humans like to think you are our masters and mistresses) has put a tree in the bay where I sometimes go to keep watch over the back garden. I know it isn‘t real. He must think I‘m stupid: one quick sniff and it‘s obvious, and anyway, it was folded up and I know that real trees don‘t do that. The twinkling stars on it can‘t be real either, as real stars live in the sky (I sometimes look up at them if I‘m outside when it‘s dark) and I cannot touch or sniff them.

Hope you cope with the cold—you don‘t have my furry coat to keep you warm.

More "mews" from me next time.
