Babylon 5

This is just a brief mention of this epic TV series. There are far better resources already on the Web, and copyright restrictions mean that there is little I can place here.

This five-year story has been shown in its entirety in the UK on both Channel 4 and the U.K. Sci-Fi Channel.

This ground-breaking series has won several awards, including the coveted Hugo award for Best Dramatic Production two years running, primarily for its sheer quality and for raising standards in terms of drama, effects and acting. It is widely regarded as the most intelligent science fiction television series yet made.

This is a story with a difference: no quick-and-easy technical get-outs, no "reset everything to normal at the end of the show" conveniences, and no preaching as such. Instead the programme poses at least as many questions as it answers, shows the ongoing consequences of what has gone before, pays a lot of respect to religious and other beliefs, and dares to do what others have never been able to attempt, including some experimental dramatic techniques.
