Just look at these tapes—they're in no kind of order
But that's what you find with a video recorder
Tape one item there, squeeze another in here
Look—no two items are from the same year!
And this tape's as bad: I really must find
The time to check through them. Oh, what a bind!
Technology's wonderful and helps make life good
But I can't give these things the time that I should
I keep these tapes' indexes bang up to date
Yet my tapes always seem to get in a state
High tech isn't there to make us all lazy
But I'm sure it's not meant to drive me half crazy!
How long has it been since I last watched this play;
Must I keep it on tape for ever and a day?
I'm getting desperate for some more free space:
Now how do I set this machine to erase?
And when this job's done I can't take a rest—
My audio cassettes need sorting out next!
